A Semi-Regular Column on eddale.co
It’s no secret, Podcasts are my favourite way of learning about a market. There is an intimacy to the communication that can’t be beat.
When you think about it – typically, you’re speaking with your best friends on the phone. Their voice, direct into your ear. Podcasts use the same senses, so I wonder if this the secret to their power.
There’s one thing I’m certain of, people who listen to your podcast are your best tribe members. It does take a certain comittment to listen to a podcast and if they’re prepared to do it. You should honor them.
As a side note – a massive thank you to all of you who have downloaded Dominiche – My podcast with Danny B on the art of buying and selling anything. It’s the Number 1 buisness podcast in Australia and the number 3 buisness podcast in the United Kingdom. Due to an earlier incident on the podcast, as faithfully reinacted in this movie, I’m not sure we will ever do well in New Zealand.
But Enough About Me.
Rather than recommend specific podcasts to subscribe to – I thought I’d highlight particular episodes I’ve really enjoyed.
Pro Tip – I use the app Pocket Casts on my iPhone to mange my podcast listening. There ‘s also an Android version and it’s hands down the best way to get and manage podcasts.
The Trouble With Freedom – The Lynn Terry Episode
I have always admired Lynn Terry and her unique approach to Internet Marketing. After listening to how she started and her story. She is a legend.
I love episodes of the “Trouble with Freedom” when they discuss breaking in stories. Lynn’s is fantastic and inspiring. 1
This American Life – When Patents Attack
Every reader of this humble website needs to listen to this. At a time when America needs innovation more than ever. The software patent system threatens the very foundation of innovation. I’m all for protecting Intellectual Property – but this is just plain wrong – and I’d like to think is an issue that should concern you regardless of political persuasion.
I Love Marketing – The One With More Cheese And Less Whiskers
Put simply, Dean Jackson lays out the single best marketing lesson of 2012. A must listen – pure genius in it’s simplicity.
As I Listen to Podcasts, I’ll do a post like this when it tickles my fancy.
